Since then, Octopz has been identified as a 2007 rising star by InfoWorld, selected by Red Herring as one of the ten hottest startups in Canada, named one of Canada’s Companies-to-Watch as part of the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards, recognized as a Branham300 ‘Top 25 Up and Comer’, chosen as the Canadian Innovation Leader by CIX (Canadian Innovation Exchange), winner of KPMG & Backbone Magazine first annual 'PICK20' Awards, acknowledged as a Top 10 Canadian Web 2.0 Company by IDC and has been a finalist in the Webware 100 awards two years in a row.
Octopz named one of the “10 Canadian Web 2.0 Companies to Watch” by leading IT market research and advisory firm, IDC. Part of IDC’s Canadian Technology Innovation Watch report series, this study, 10 Canadian Web 2.0 Companies to Watch (IDC #CA2TIW8), profiles 10 relatively small Canadian-based companies offering Web 2.0 solutions. IDC believes these companies are worthy of highlighting to the broader industry and have the potential to make an impact in the information and communication technology (ICT) market.

Octopz is named one of the winners of KPMG and Backbone magazine's first annual 'PICK20' Awards, the only national roundup of Canada's up and coming Web 2.0 pioneers who are leading the 2.0 evolution of the Web. These new emergent online social platforms designed to link individuals to each other, are now increasingly being used to connect companies to both partners and clients.
Octopz was awarded the ‘Canadian Innovation Leader’ by the inaugural Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX), an action-packed two-day event that showcases Canada’s hottest new and innovative technology companies.
