Octopz Partners With Transcontinental

April 21, 2008

Canada’s largest printer adds advanced online collaboration tools to enhance creative projects

Toronto, Ontario – Octopz Inc. is pleased to announce that it has entered into a value-added partnership with Transcontinental, the largest printer in Canada and sixth-largest in North America, to deliver online collaboration software that will allow Transcontinental and its clients to plan and review creative projects online, using fully integrated text, voice and video capabilities.

Octopz, which is ideally suited to the unique needs of media and creative professionals, enables up to five people to synchronously view and markup an unprecedented range of documents including high resolution photos and graphics, and digital media such as video. Participants communicate via built-in text, voice and video chat, and their work, including markup and notes, is stored securely, allowing them to review and revise projects individually whenever it’s convenient, wherever they are, 24/7.

These capabilities will allow Transcontinental to offer customers a new tool that helps streamline the creative development and review process resulting in cost efficiencies and faster time to market.

“Octopz is thrilled to partner with Transcontinental, a company known for creating strategic partnerships that deliver value-added services to its customers,” said Ron McKenzie, CEO of Octopz. “By providing advanced online collaboration services, Transcontinental will enable its customers to make better, faster decisions resulting in accelerated project delivery.”

Octopz can also be easily integrated with existing technologies, such as asset management and job tracking applications. Intuitive and graphical, Octopz is extremely easy to use, so clients gain the benefits of online collaboration instantly.

Octopz launched at Web 2.0 Expo 2007, where CNET named it one of the ‘Top Five’ Web 2.0 services; in 2008, for the second year in a row, it is a finalist in the CNET “Webware 100” awards. Octopz was also identified as a 2007 rising star by InfoWorld, selected by Red Herring as one of the ten hottest startups in Canada and named one of Canada’s Companies-to-Watch as part of the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards.
