Here are the most recent enhancements to Octopz:
Video enhancements that include:
- The ability to choose between streaming and download viewing modes
- Markup indicators on the timeline (that correspond to the views in the Documents and Views list)
- Support for the H264 codec
- Support for FLV video in native format and quality settings (bypassing any conversion/recompression)
New Document/File Icons and Extensions
For easy identification, all documents now display custom Icons to the left of file names.
File extensions are also included after the document names (eg letter.doc, photo.jpg, video.mov, etc.).
Improved monitoring (including automatic resumption) of Internet connections
A user's connection is continuously monitored and automatically reconnected should there be a disruption in Internet service.
Ability to embed Octopz in external applications
Octopz has always supported our clients existing application environment. It’s now been taken a step further and Octopz allows other application developers to add collaboration to their offering by quickly and easily embedding a collaboration button.
Expanded customization and branding capabilities
Clients are now able to customize the appearance of Octopz and have it blend seamlessly, visually as well as technically, with their brand.
Industry-leading support for fully interactive 3D content
It’s now easy for anyone working in 3D applications such as Autodesk’s Maya and 3ds Max, and Softimage’s XSI, to upload their content into Octopz. With support for true 3-dimensional polygonal models with CG (computer generated) or
photographic textures, once uploaded the models can be synchronously viewed, manipulated and marked up just like any other document type.

Access to external web services, including Flickr and
Yahoo! Maps
Octopz now allows users to access web services such as Yahoo! Maps and Flickr (either an individual photo collection or the entire Flickr library), upload the desired images or map information directly to an Octopz meeting room, and view and markup the images online.
Real-time co-creation with our built-in text editor
Team members, in real-time, can create brand new documents as well as upload, or copy and paste, already existing files and text for review and modifications. The Text Editor incorporates many of the most important word processing functions such as search-and-replace, spell checking, and a range of formatting choices.

Custom Branding: Customize your Meeting Zone with your company’s logo. Simply upload a gif or jpg of your logo and it will automatically appear in the top left corner of your Meeting Zone.
1 GigaByte Document storage space: Upload, create and retain a full GigaByte’s worth of data (per license) for even more creativity, flexibility and functionality.
One-click participation: Recipients of an email invitation (which is sent from within the Octopz application) simply click on a link to join your virtual Meeting Room.
